The alcohol lock wiring complies with the requirements of 3a in Appendix C of EN 50436-7:2016.
The software has been updated before the vehicle leaves the factory (by default, if the vehicle fails the alcohol lock test and cannot be started), there is no need for market updates.
Safety hazards and considerations during installation:
① When installing an alcohol lock, please ensure that the vehicle is in a flameout state and turn off the main power switch of the mechanical handle;
② The alcohol lock handheld device and control box should be firmly fixed to avoid shaking or interfering with the driver's operation;
③ After the alcohol lock plug-in is inserted in place, draw a line on the surface of the plug-in to confirm and avoid loosening.
Installation steps:
Step 1 Power off the vehicle and turn off the main power switch of the mechanical handle;
Step 2 Find the reserved alcohol lock host docking harness in the vehicle, which is under the dashboard, refer to Figure 5;
Step 3 Remove the short circuit harness plug on the AMP six hole plug(located in the instrument harness) of the reserved alcohol lock host docking,and connect the AMP six hole plug on the alcohol lock host end to the reserved plug separately, refer to Figure 5;
Figure 5 Alcohol lock reserved wiring harness and host reserved installation position.
Step 4 Fix the alcohol lock host in the reserved installation position (access ports in front of the dashboard) , refer to Figure 5, and insert the handheld cable into the alcohol lock handheld hole, refer to Figure 6;
Figure 6 Alcohol lock handheld device Installation.
Step 5 Fix the alcohol lock handheld device in a reserved position (such as the driver's A-pillar or the driver's surrounding front pillar) and insert the connecting wire into the handheld device; Note: The installation position of the handheld device should avoid locations that are easily accessible during normal driving operations, such as near the steering wheel, driver's legs, etc., to avoid affecting drivingoperations, refer to Figure 7;
Figure 7 Reserved position of alcohol lock handheld device.
Step 6 When the vehicle is powered on again, the alcohol lock handheld interface should light up normally and request an breath test.
Modifications to vehicle operation:
①After completing all installation and operation steps, the vehicle has alcohol monitoring function. If the breath test is not completed or fails, the driver cannot start the vehicle or the vehicle can start but cannot drive;
② After the vehicle is powered off (the mechanical power handle switch is not turned off), the alcohol lock will enter a 30 minute countdown state. If the vehicle is powered on again within 30 minutes, it can be started or driven directly without conducting a new breath test. If the vehicle is not powered on again within 30 minutes, if you want to start the vehicle or drive, you need to conduct a new breath test. Due to the low working and standby current of the alcohol lock, there is no need to worry about power consumption issues.
